Oakland Basketball Teams Start Practice on November 29, 2010

The Oakland Baptist Basketball Gym schedule will be as follows starting on Monday, November 29, 2010:
Monday
5:30 pm - Mite Boys
6:30 pm - Mite Girls
Tuesday
5:30 pm - Biddy
7:30 pm - Jr/Sr Girls
Thursday
5:30 pm - 10 ft. Goal Biddy Teams
6:30 pm - Jr. Boys
7:30 pm - Sr. Boys
8:30 pm - Open Gym

OBC Basketball Season Set To Begin!

It's time for Basketball to begin! Click here to register your child online. Registration is $20 for biddy (plus the cost of a shirt) and $30 for older ages. Practice will begin the week of November 15.  All coaches and potential coaches are to meet on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 in the college Sunday School Classroom - just off the fellowship hall. The meeting will begin at 5:55 PM.

Basketball Banquet on March 18

The Basketball Banquet is March 18, at 6:00pm in the gym. Players and coaches eat free and guests are $5 each. The menu is pizza, salad, dessert, drinks. And we want to have all teams well represented in the slideshow. See Angie Perry's previous message.

Need Pictures For Basketball Banquet

Hi Guys,

Could everyone send me (Angie Perry) the pictures you have taken of your team so far this season today or tonight (Monday, Feb. 22) when you get home. I want to see where we stand on having enough pictures for banquet (tentative date is March 18)

If by some chance you have not taken pictures - PLEASE TAKE THIS WEEKEND!!! We do want at least 20 pictures of each team on the slide show at the basketball banquet. Take your camera and ask a parent to take tons of pictures. These kids love seeing themselves on that slide show!!! It is the highlight of the banquet!!!!!

Phillip Reynolds has agreed to put the slideshow together but he needs to get it done soon - he will be out of town the week of the banquet.THANK YOU PHILLIP!!!!!

Trouble @ Tuesday Night Practice

Hi Everyone--

I was trying to contact all the coaches of Tuesday night practices. If I left anyone off, please let me know...

The past two weeks, we have had some kids roaming through the church and making a mess in the dayschool classrooms. Many of the teachers set up their classrooms for the next day. Snacks have been eaten, ugly notes left on tables, toys strewn on the floor, hand gel squirted on tables, etc. (I have several of the notes in my office!) I have a feeling that it may be siblings of children who are practicing.

I tried to be on the lookout for them last night, during the times that I am in the church on Tuesday nights. Would you please let the parents of your players know about this situation and ask them to keep a close eye on their children? We can start locking off these areas of the church -- like has been done in years past. But this would cause an inconvenience for 3 Bible study groups who also meet in the church building on Tuesdays.

Thanks for all you do in coaching our kids. Sorry to put one more thing on your to-do list! Let me know if you need anything or have any questions...
